It looks like the PCA has decided, at least for now, to remain more faithful to her Confessions:

It is good to see that the PCA has taken at least some form of stand upon the abomination of willful sexual perversion. The question I have is will they now begin the process of applying their decision(s) by discipline, i.e., removing homosexuals from the pulpit, excommunicating all non-repentant homosexuals throughout the denomination, actually preach from the Word of God against all the sins that fall under the umbrella of 'sexual sins' including "sexual identity", etc.? The PCA is so plagued by heretical teachings which it has allowed, I wonder whether this latest pronouncement is a sign of repentance; a turning from sin, both in doctrine and life, and the beginning of a genuine, Spirit-wrought reformation? scratchchin

Why hasn't the PCA defrocked and excommunicated such people as Timothy Keller? That would be a step in the right direction!!! evilgrin

The "big" issues that were passed regarding the ordination of elders who confess to unnatural affections represent a change in the PCA's Book of Church Order (BCO), so the changes now have to be approved by two thirds of the presbyteries, and then adopted at next year's General Assembly, according to a PCA pastor I know. So I reckon we'll be hearing about this stuff for a whole 'nother year or so before it becomes officially "law" in the PCA. My friend can't say whether or not the presbyteries will approve the overtures passed by this year's General Assembly, but that's where the battle goes from here. Then to be finalized at next year's GA.
