Hi there, I have been discussing some things with a Catholic friend of mine, and cannot find anything regarding the Protestant view of why the Deuterocanonical books are non considered part of the canon. So my questions are: 1) Why do we not consider them to be part of the canon? 2) How do I answer this? http://www.catholicbasictraining.com/apologetics/coursetexts/1m.htmPlease be aware that (if I am correct), the apocrapha is not the deuterocanon. Any help and guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks, Graham

![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/Welcome.gif) This subject isn't exactly a well known one among most Protestants outside academia. But here is a link that will briefly define and describe what "Deuterocanonical books" are: Wikipedia article. As far as why Protestants don't consider them to be canonical, the brief answer is that they don't meet the criteria of inspired Scripture. Perhaps Warfield's article on The Formation of the Canon of the New Testament will offer some help. There are also some other possible relevant articles on the subject of "Inspiration" which can be found in This Section of The Highway.

Thanks Pilgrim, For future reference, I found this good website, http://www.bible-researcher.com/, on Scripture, which I think is sound (as far as I've read at least! :))
