As Christians we know/talk a lot about Christ's death, why its important, Christ's resurection, and why it is important. However, we (at least I) do not hear a lot of sermons on the topic of why His birth and His 33 years of live were important. Could someone point me to an article or list reasons of importance of His birth and life (befor death).

One reason is because of the tendancy of liberal theologians looking at Christ as a moral example. THe focus of the writ is in His death. The cross of Christ.

CHeck out articles on the active/passive obedience of Christ being imputed to His elect.

There never was a sinner half as big as Christ is as a Savior.

I would recommend an excellent book to you: Redemption, Accomplished and Applied, by John Murray.

I believe that book helped me--more than any other--to understand the importance of Christ's obedient life being imputed to us.

Trust the past to God's mercy, the present to God's love and the future to God's providence." - St. Augustine
