I imagine each one holding to Partial Preterist views and for me, I claim that name or terminology for the following reasons:
1. I do look forward in the future, to the return of Jesus Christ, bodily to earth on the last day for the general resurrection and judgment.
2. I believe every NT book was written prior to 70 AD, including Revelation. I find it too stunning that if any of the NT books were written after 70 AD, there is not the slightest reference to it.
3. I believe the book of Revelation prophesies the destruction of the Jewish state and then the destruction of the Roman Empire then the book moves to the resurrection and judgment.
4. I believe Matthew 24 up to v36 is solely about 70 AD, but at v36 I understand Jesus to go to the end times in our future which date no one knows.
5. I believe the phrase "the great and terrible day of Jehovah cometh" in Joel 2:31 ASV and the identical phrase in Mal. 4:5 ASV refer to 70 AD, rather than the 2nd coming and judgment.
I do not believe in dual fulfillment of prophecy. I believe a passage has one meaning and only one meaning. Yet, I believe the great judgments of God do have similarities, considering how Jesus referred to Noah in Matt. 24:37.
Some passages in the NT that dispensationalists apply to the end times, I sometimes believe it may be referring to 70 AD.
I'm comfortable with a historic pre-mil like John Gill and the a-mils. I only reject dispensationalism as it's so wrong to be dangerous heresy. The commentary on Revelation by David S. Clark, "The Message from Patmos" to be the most reasonable from scripture to my mind. It is a preterist view of Revelation. It can be read online if any are curious about it.
