Yes, it is the same word- charis.
I'm not sure what you mean in the second question. Grace is God's favour and love betowed upon those who merit the exact opposite. It works through salvation (Eph. 2:8), His sustaining, day-by-day dealings with us (Grace and peace...) and is summed up in His covanental realationship with us (Covanent of grace). Grace means the same thing in every case. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you mean...?
